Torque and
gear reduction |
| High RPM engines with low gear
ratios give you good torque off the line and out
of the corner. For example, a car with a smaller
engine starting in 1st gear will pull away from car
with a bigger engine starting in a higher gear
for the first 50 feet or so. This principle is
the same with starters. A small high RPM starter
will a gear reduction will out perform a bigger
direct drive starter. The gear reduction turns
those high RPM’s into starting torque. |

Smaller is lighter |
| The smaller motor in a gear
reduction starter makes the starter itself lighter
than a conventional or OEM one. In all forms of
racing being lighter is better. For those of us
who pay big bucks to save a few pounds this is a
no-brainer. |

More room |
| One of the advantages of using a offset
starter is that we have more clearance for extra features
in the oil pan. The spray coming off the crank is thrown
against the right side of the oil pan creating turbulence.
By moving this side of the pan away from the rotating assembly
(creating an oil recovery pouch) we can save you some power.
In most applications the stock starter is right next to the
pan which can make using a “Power” pouch difficult. So by
switching to an offset starter we can gain the room to build
you a better pan, one that can actually save you horsepower. |

performance mini starters are new and not rebuilt. They give
you 45% more cranking power than stock starters while drawing less
amperage. This increase in power will virtually eliminate the
problems of cranking a engine while being hot. The body can be
rotated for clearance of extended oil pan kick outs, pouches,
headers and other tight chassis situations.
Packaged with all the necessary shims, mounting
bolts and comes with instructions.
Fits SBC, BBC and V-6 Chevys using 153 or 168-tooth flywheel. |
