Trucks need better oil pans

Trucks need better oil pans. Many truck oil pans are the same oil pans that are used on passenger cars. Trucks by the very nature of their use need a heavy duty oiling system. Whether it’s for off road or heavy hauling, a better oiling system will result in longer engine life.

Deep sumps

A simple deep sump is one of the best designs for oil control. A deeper sump allows the overall level of oil to be lower in the sump and thus farther away from the rotating assembly. The oil is also stacked higher over the pickup making it harder for air to be picked up. The shape of a deep sump retains the oil over the pickup even under rough conditions and without the need for extensive baffling. Unfortunately ground clearance in most applications does not allow the use of a deep sump but in truck applications we do have that room.
