Marine oil pans |
Marine oil pans are subject to special
conditions. The lack of air flowing around the Oil Pan creates
higher oil temperatures which destroy the lubricating properties
of the oil in low capacity oil pans. The motion of the boat in the
water sloshes the oil in a pan without the correct baffling. Air
could get to the pickup resulting in momentary oil pressure loss.
The oil also can be tossed into the crank which can foam and aerate
it. The pounding effect of oil in the pan can also cause fractures
in pans without reinforcement. The design and construction of CANTON
Marine oil pans makes sure there are no problems in the roughest
conditions. These features are included in all our pans:
- High Capacity Sumps to combat heat and add longevity to oil.
- Trap door baffling to control oil slosh.
- Removable windage tray to hold oil down away from the crank.

| Boats are subjected to some of the roughest
motion, which affects the oil pan. As a boat moves through the water
it pitches for and aft, rolls side to side, and pounds up and down.
All this movement affects the oil in the oil pan. Imagine holding a
ten gallon fish tank filled with oil in your lap as you’re pounding
out the waves. It’s easy to see how the pickup could become uncovered
and oil pressure could be lost momentarily. An Accusump can protect the
engine from damage during these times. In addition, boats sit at the dock for long
periods between use so the oil drains out from between the bearing
surfaces resulting in a dry start. An Accusump can provide preoiling
before start up for longer engine life. |

Marine fabrication
features |
- Fabricated from 14 gauge .075 steel to eliminate
stress cracking.
- 14 gauge steel baffles and trap doors are welded into the pan for
extra strength.
- Assembled and welded on heavy steel fixtures so each pan is
correct.
- Triple block fitted during manufacturing to insure a proper fit.
- Double leak tested and chemically cleaned to remove any scale.

STYLE: Large “T” sump with extra high
capacity, and oil recovery pouch for maximum
horsepower savings.
SIZE: 8" Deep, 14" Long sump holds 10 quarts of oil.
FEATURES: Six trap doors and two baffles, control the oil flow.
Full length oil recovery pouch with built-in scraper. The front portion
of the pan is angled for improved drain back and bolt-in windage
tray. Notched for sea pump and has three 1/2” N.P.T. fittings
and an oil level check.
STARTER: These pans require a rear mounted starter, left side,
or an aftermarket starter to clear the oil recovery pouch.
