In the 1970s, the front end on drag cars
where high and drag race pans were deep. While they were sold as high
capacity deep sumps, in practice the racers would only run the same
amount of oil as in the stock pan. The level of oil in the pan would
be farther away from the rotating assembly which resulted in performance
gains on the track.
Now front ends are lower and pans need to be shallow but we still
need to keep the oil in the pan away from the rotating assembly.
For a drag racer too much oil in a wet sump oil pan is
lost power. |

STYLE: These bracket Drag Race Oil Pans
were designed to offer the racer a versatile oil pan at an
exceptional price. Designed to fit most stock chassis.
FEATURES: Competition oil recovery system which
includes a crank scraper and a bolt in one way screen
windage tray designed to maximize power by catching oil
coming off the rotating assembly. It also features a
trap door baffle, oil level check and magnetic drain plug.
SIZE & STROKE:
#13-080 S.B.C. pans are 8” Deep with a 9.5" long sump and
a 6 qt. system capacity, takes up to a 3.875” stroke with a steel rod.
#13-082 S.B.C. Stroker pans are 8” Deep with a 9.5" long sump and
a 7 qt. system capacity, takes up to a 4” stroke with a steel rod. Includes a dipstick bung.
#13-090 Dart/Rocket pans are 8-1/4” Deep with a 9.5" long sump and a 6.5 qt. system capacity, takes up to a 4.25"
stroke with a steel rod, includes a dipstick bung.
STARTER: Works with stock or aftermarket starters.
